Tournament Rules:
TAAF – WINTER GAMES OF TEXAS RULES - 2020
FIFA rules apply if not modified within. The following rules have been designed to ensure fair play for all participants. Each player is expected to understand these rules prior to their participation in the tournament.
TOURNAMENT HEADQUARTERS:
A Tournament Headquarters will be located at Hickory Slough Sportsplex by the Pavillion.
ONLINE TEAM CHECK-IN
All teams are required to check-in online. For any additional verification, team is required to report to the Tournament Headquarters Tent 45 minutes prior to the start of your first game. Teams must submit a copy of their official roster and the roster must include any/all guest players. Each team must submit a medical release for every player on the roster along with a valid player card/pass issued by a U.S. Soccer Member Organization if applicable, or other age verification if requested.
ROSTER SIZE
THE GAME
5 MINUTE GRACE PERIOD: Teams must have the minimum number of players with full uniform and equipment on the scheduled field to begin the match. Teams are given a five (5) minute grace period before a forfeit is declared, subject to the discretion of the tournament director.
PLAYERS
GAME CARDS
The Tournament Director will provide pre-printed game cards to the Referee Assignor. Coaches from both teams will be asked to verify and sign the cards at the end of each game. The Referee Assignor will be responsible for returning cards to the Tournament Director.

In the event two teams are tied on the basis of points the following tiebreakers will be considered in order until the tie is broken.
AWARDS
Players on the First and Second place teams in each age group and competition level will receive medals. Awards will be held immediately after the final game.
SUBSTITUTIONS
The number of substitutions is unlimited with permission of the referee at the following stoppages of play:
INCLEMENT WEATHER
In the event of inclement weather, the Tournament Director will determine if games are to be suspended. If games are suspended teams and spectators should go to the parking lot and stay in their cars. Do not leave the complex until a final decision is made. The Tournament Director reserves the right to adjust the game length and schedules due to weather or field conditions.
PROTESTS
There will be no protests. All officiating decisions are final.
MISCONDUCT
“ZERO TOLERANCE” POLICY FOR SIDELINE MISCONDUCT WILL BE ENFORECED. THIS INCLUDES INAPPROPRIATE LANGUAGE, RACIAL SLURS, OR VERBAL ABUSE TOWARD REFEREES, PLAYERS AND GAME OFFICIALS BOTH ON AND OFF THE PLAYING FIELD.
Coaches are responsible for the conduct of their team and supporters.
YELLOW CARDS
A player or coach receiving two yellow cards during a match is suspended from that match and shall be suspended from the next match.
RED CARDS/EJECTIONS
A player or coach receiving a red card/ejection is suspended from the match and shall be suspended from the next match. Players or coaches receiving a red card/ejections must leave the match immediately and report to the Tournament Headquarters tent. Player may sit on the bench during their suspension however they shall not be in uniform. Coaches must not return to the tournament site during the match for which they are serving the one game suspension.

The tournament will use the Hickory Slough Sportsplex for the event.
Pearland Soccer Club reserves the right to modify; make additions to, or retractions for theses rules prior to the start of the tournament. In the event of a discrepancy in the rules and or tournament software etc. the tournament director and committee will evaluate and resolve in a manner most beneficial for the good of the tournament. All decisions are final once reached.

- Player may only be rostered on one team.
- Teams are limited to a maximum roster as governed by STYSA
- Teams may have up to 5 guest players but may not exceed the maximum roster size.
- Player Cards are required for check in.
THE GAME
- Minimum players to start; 7v7 - 5 players : 8v8 - 6 players : 9v9 - 7 players.
- Both teams must sit on the same sideline opposite parents and spectators.
- Home team must wear their dark jerseys.
- Visitor team must wear their white/light-colored jersey opposing color of Home Team to avoid color conflicts.
- Home team will provide the game ball.
- Only rostered players, coaches and team managers are allowed on the sideline bench area.

PLAYERS
- Must wear shin guards and completely covered by socks.
- Each team must wear matching uniforms with clearly visible permanent numbers on the back of the jersey.
- The goalkeeper jersey will be distinct from both teams and the referee.
- No metal-rimmed glasses or jewelry of any kind is allowed
- No hard casts are allowed even if wrapped.
GAME CARDS
The Tournament Director will provide pre-printed game cards to the Referee Assignor. Coaches from both teams will be asked to verify and sign the cards at the end of each game. The Referee Assignor will be responsible for returning cards to the Tournament Director.
GAME DURATION
- 7v7 2 x 25 minute halves (5 minute half time)
- 8v8 2 x 25 minute halves (5 minute half time)
- 9v9 2 x 25 minute halves (5 minute half time)
BALL SIZE
- U9-U12 Size 4
- U13+ Size 5
GAME FORMAT
- Scores will be recorded and posted on Got Soccer Tournament website. Teams will be placed in four, five, six or eight team flights. Flights will be formed at the discretion of the Tournament Director.
- Bracket of 4: 1 bracket of 4 played as a round-robin; top 2 teams meet in Championship Game.
- Bracket of 5: All teams will play a round-robin of 4 games; Team with the most points is 1st Place and Team with 2nd most points is 2nd Place.
- Bracket of 6: 2 brackets of 3; all games are cross-over games; Top point-getter in each bracket meet in the Championship Game.
- Bracket of 8: 2 brackets of 4; Bracket play will consist of 3 game round-robin within bracket; top point-getter in Bracket A will play the top point-getter in Bracket B in the Championship Game.
- Win Six (6) points per game for the winner
- Tie One (1) point for a tie
- Loss Zero (0) points for a loss
- One (1) point for each goal to a maximum of three (3) per game
- One (1) point for a clean sheet
- For a forfeiture of a game the opposing team will be awarded a 3-0 win. Games are official upon completion of one half of the game, regardless of the circumstances of termination during the second half.
TIE BREAKER FORMAT

- Head to Head competition
- Goal Differential – calculated as goals for minus goals against
- Most Goals For – most goals
- Least Goals Against – least goals allowed
- Shootout – penalty kicks
- CHAMPIONSHIP GAME: If a championship game is tied at the end of regulation, the game will go straight to penalty kicks to determine the winner.
