WhAT is nextup?

NextUp Academy is Pearland Soccer Club’s elite player development pathway, designed to prepare players for the highest levels of competition within our club and beyond.
The program begins at the foundation phase (U9–U12), where players are developed through an accelerated training environment built on the TOVO methodology—focusing on decision making, game intelligence, and technical mastery in realistic game contexts.

As players progress, NextUp serves as the gateway into our full competitive pathway, including:

• Pre-NextUp Academy (U9–U12)
• NextUp Academy (U9–U12)
• Competitive Pathway (U13+)
• MLS NEXT Academy Division (U13–U19)

This structure provides a clear and intentional progression for players with ambitions to compete at the highest levels of youth soccer.

Training within NextUp emphasizes:

• Ball mastery and technical execution
• Decision making under pressure
• Tactical understanding in context
• A dynamic, possession-based style of play

Accelerated 4-year academy program for U9 through U12 boys and girls with competitive high-level training sessions offered 3 days a week

• Encourage an individual development mindset to master the ball
• Stay engaged with the club’s individual practice (Skill Builder) assignments and ensure the player completes and exceeds
