Coaches
Pearland Soccer and Shadow Creek Soccer allow qualified parents to lead Select teams. Coaches are required to obtain a US Soccer grass roots 9v9 or 11v11 license within one year of coaching and attend training and mentoring by the Coaching Director. An E and D license is recommended. The USSF license pathway can be seen here:
While most clubs no longer allow parents to coach select teams, we believe with proper training, keeping parents involved and cost low is win for all. Each team should have a head and assistant coach or two co-coaches. Both coaches receive 50% off Select registration. If the assistant coach does not act as team manager and a 3rd parent becomes team manager, total discount will be 1 full registration fee divided by 3.
If your Select team has no parents willing or able to coach, your team is free to hire a coach/trainer. We will recommend a qualified trainer. A combination of training options are available.
