Pearland Soccer Club Announces Acceptance into MLS NEXT Academy Division for 2026–27 Season.
This milestone marks a defining moment in the continued growth of our club and is a direct reflection of the commitment, consistency, and quality demonstrated across our players, coaches, and families over the years.
Official Statement
“This invitation is a major milestone for Pearland Soccer and a reflection of the work that has gone into building a serious development environment for our players. We are proud of what this means for the boys in our pathway and energized about what comes next for the club as a whole.”
– Romayne Minto, Program Director, Pearland Soccer Club
Through this acceptance, PSC will now offer a complete MLS NEXT Academy pathway for boys at the following age groups: U13, U14, U15, U16, U17, and U19.
This platform represents one of the highest levels of youth competition in the country, providing our players with increased exposure, elevated standards of play, and direct alignment with elite development environments across the United States.
Players within this pathway will benefit from meaningful exposure to college coaches, national team scouts, and professional opportunities through participation in top national events. Competing at this level provides increased visibility while still allowing athletes to participate in their high school programs, offering a balanced and flexible pathway for long-term development.
We would like to recognize and extend our sincere appreciation to the Houston Dynamo Academy, whose support played a role in this achievement. We also take pride in the players who have progressed from PSC into the Dynamo Academy in recent years, including Myles Gardner, David Barrett, Fred Knupfer, Ryland Rios, and Kenzynton Pierre, as a testament to the strength of our development pathway. We look forward to continuing to contribute to the elite player pathway landscape in Houston.
This opportunity is more than just league placement. It represents a step forward in our mission to develop intelligent, technically proficient players prepared to compete at the highest levels of the game. With this comes a responsibility to continue raising our standards across coaching, training environments, and overall player experience.
While this announcement highlights the expansion of our boys’ pathway, PSC already provides a strong and competitive environment for our girls within ECNL Regional League. We remain focused on delivering top-tier development, competition, and exposure while continuing to strengthen the girls pathway.
We are incredibly excited about what lies ahead and what this means for the future of Pearland Soccer Club. This is a moment to celebrate, but also a moment to build.
The pathway is here. The standard is rising. The opportunity is real.
We look forward to continuing this journey with our players and families.
